At the heart of the creation “Orientals poems” lies the musical encounter between East and West — a harmonious symbiosis that celebrates the richness of cultural diversity and embodies tolerance and open-mindedness. The poems, recited and sung in Arabic by the talented Ihab Radwan, transport the audience into the depths of the Eastern soul. The warm voice of Claude Thébert, as a narrator, delivers these poems in French, thus creating a bridge between the two worlds. The music, composed by Olivier Nussbaum and Julien Monti, skillfully blends the spicy tones of the East with the enchanting sounds of the West. The compositions and improvisations of the three musicians promise a captivating sonic journey, where every note resonates with emotion and intensity.
You will discover a palette of unique instruments. Olivier Nussbaum will carry you away with his archlute, a plucked string instrument with a rich and deep sound, creating a setting of subtle and delicate harmonies. Julien Monti, for his part, will charm you with his array of flutes — classical and ethnic — including his renowned contrabass flute, offering deep, mesmerizing tones that create a magical, mystical atmosphere. Finally, Egyptian artist Ihab Radwan will captivate you with his Arabic lute, the Oud, offering melodies steeped in tradition and emotion. Moreover, the stunning lighting design by Joran Hegi adds a visual and colorful dimension to the performance. His creative work enhances the world of the artists by playing with contrasts, nuances, and moods, making the show as captivating for the eyes as it is for the ears.
